ABOUT SAUK VALLEY ANGUS
“Proud
of our Past and Confident in Our Future” says a lot about the heart and soul of Sauk Valley Angus. Sauk Valley Angus
is the purebred Angus division of Sandrock Land and Cattle, which is a family owned and operated agribusiness nestled in the heart
of the Rock River Valley, just south of Rock Falls, IL. Farming and ranching runs seven generations deep in the Sandrock bloodlines
in Whiteside County. The Sandrock and King families settled in this area from Germany in the 1800s and well over 100 years later,
agriculture is still our livelihood, our passion, and our sole source of income.
Ben Sandrock manages the herd of over 100 Angus cows, as well as working with the cooperator herds and overseeing the ET program.
Ben and his wife Traci have 3 children, Breanna (21), Sean (15) and Connor (12) and reside nearby in Lyndon, IL.
Matt Sandrock manages the crop division of the farm, growing corn, soybeans, peas, sweet corn, lima bean, alfalfa, and seed corn.
Matt and his wife Mandy have 3 children, Grace (14), Denver (8) and Hope (5) and reside in Sterling, IL.
Ben and Matt have 3 younger siblings, Nathan, Zach and Faith. Nathan and his wife, Maribeth have on son, Paxton (2) and reside
in Dixon IL. Zach and his wife Kelsey live in Eureka, IL. Faith lives at home and is a junior at Rock Falls High School.
Ben and Matt’s parents and Sauk Valley Angus founders, Gary and Kathy Sandrock, are actively involved in farming with Matt
and Ben and live just down the road from farm headquarters.
Grandfather, Jay King is a past president of the American Angus Association and plays an important role in the day to day farming
operation. He and his wife Chris live in Rock Falls, IL.
Sauk Valley Angus hosts an annual Bull and Female sale the fourth Saturday in March. We welcome anyone interested to stop by to
view the cattle anytime…the coffee is always on!
